When Affliction Seem Heavy
What if the heaviest pain you carry could be measured against something even heavier—so heavy it makes today’s burden feel light by comparison? We open Paul’s bold claim that beatings, prisons, and injustice were “light afflictions,” and we ask how a person can say that without denying real suffering.
If you’re close to giving up, this message invites you to change the scale. Let the “weight of glory” be the dominant mass in your life, heavier than fear and louder than despair.
Here on Soul Food Podcast, Motivational Mondays with Bishop Joshua. Hello dear friends, may the Lord Jesus bless your life. Yesterday we spoke about the Apostle Paul, who said that his outwards, his human body, was deteriorating. Yes, he was a man who suffered many things for the sake of his salvation and the salvation of others. He faced a lot of injustice. He was beaten, he was stoned, he was tired, he was in prison, many times in prison. Now he says, For our light affliction. How can somebody that was always facing troubles, persecutions? He was persecuted, persecuted, he was put in prison. How can a man like this say our light affliction? You are going to understand in a few. Our light affliction, which is but for a moment, is working for us a more exceeding and eternal weight of glory. Weight of glory. In other words, he considered all the troubles, the pain, sorrows, the horrible situation he went through in prison, injustice. All that he considered light, light afflictions, because he was seeing the weight of glory. The weight of glory, in other words, the glory will be greater than this affliction. This affliction is heavy. Oh, yes, but I consider it light, light affliction. Because in heaven it is going to be greater. As he said, this affliction is work for us for more exceeding and eternal weight of glory. The weight of glory, salvation, the reward from God is better greater than the weight of the problem. Do not look at your problem. I don't know what you are facing this day at this moment, but consider it just like a light affliction, just a light affliction. And God will uh renew you day after day. Don't let the problems on the outside be heavy on you. They are light, they are painful, yes. Nobody likes them. Nobody likes them, the problems. But the glory that God has for us is heavier, heavier than this problem. That's why He calls it an eternal weight of glory. The weight of glory is more uh powerful than the problems that you are faced. These problems are light in Jesus' name, they go away. Do not give up on your faith, but just believe what uh you are you can expect, what you are hoping for is the weight of glory of your salvation. Alright? God bless you all of you.
