Stay In The Temple
Before sunrise, a quiet sanctuary reminds us of a moment we often rush past—a man crippled for thirty-eight years hears Jesus say, “Rise,” and everything changes. But the real lesson comes after the miracle, when Jesus points him toward a life that protects the healing he just received.
In this episode, we talk about what happens after the breakthrough: how staying close to Jesus turns sudden change into steady growth. We rethink church—not as an emergency room, but as a home base where worship, Scripture, and community form rhythms that keep you whole.
Here on Soul Food Podcast, Motivational Mondays with Bishop Joshua. Hello dear friends, good morning. Good morning. God bless your day. Oh, good afternoon. Good evening. Regardless of the time that you are watching this message. Today we are here in the sanctuary of the church. I don't know if you can see the time over there. It is still 5:40, 5:43 in the morning. The lights of the church are still off. Our next service is going to be 7 in the morning, the first service of the day. But we came here early in the morning to pray, and the scripture says that Jesus healed a man, and this man was a paralytic. You know the story of that man. Jesus met him by the pool, the pool by the gate of the city, and there were many sick people, many, many, many many sick people. And that man was there waiting for an angel to come down from heaven to stir up the water. And that man was paralytic, disabled, handicapped for 38 years. The Bible says, For 38 years, that man was disabled. You know, Jesus said, If you want to be made well, do you want? He said, Yes, Lord, I want to be made well. Jesus said, Take up your bed, your bed and go home. He stood on his feet for the first time after 38 years. He took up his bed and he walked. After that great miracle that happened to him, imagine a man that could not walk for 38 years. Now that man who was found by Jesus were over here, over here, over here. He was found by Jesus in the temple. In the temple. How many people came to this temple? I was thinking, praying, the church is empty, nobody's over here. But how many people have passed in this place? How many people have come and they have sat down here to hear the message, the words, the pastors preaching, they clapped their hands for the testimonies, they even got baptized and they left. No. But when you are hungry, you go there like a person that goes to ER, emergency room, because he's sick. But nobody that is fine, that is well, goes to the ER, right? But the house of God cannot be for us places like this, like a grocery store, that you go there to buy food and then you leave. No, the house of God is open every day, and we have to be found by Jesus in the temple. In the temple. When was the last time you came into church? How often you come to church? Maybe you come some days, or when you feel like. No, especially Sunday is the Lord's day, Wednesday is the night of salvation, Friday for deliverance. I don't mean to come into church every day, you have your daily tasks, right? But the more you come, the closer you are going to be with Jesus. Let me get the Bible because Jesus told that man, He said, Um, afterward, Jesus found him in the temple and said to him, See, you have made well, you are healed. See no more, lest a worst thing come upon you. So see no more, in other words, leave your old life behind. Sin no more, stay here in the temple, because if you go back to your old life, remember that you were a paralytic for 38 years. 38 years. Now that you are made well, you are healed, stay with me, stay in the temple, do not sin, do not live a life of sin, do not go back to the old life, otherwise, worse thing will happen to you. What could be worse for him than to be paralytic for 38 years? But as I said, sin no more, live a clean life, stay here with me. The doors of the universal church are open every day, and you are our special guest. And maybe you say I have you backslided, I'm no longer in the temple, in the kingdom, I'm no longer in the presence of God. Come as soon as possible, because the Lord is waiting for you. Share this mercy to if a friend of yours. God bless you. The temple is available for you.
