Many Are Called
Ever set a table, waited with hope, and watched a chair stay empty? That ache frames a bigger truth we explore: what happens when we treat God’s invitation like a casual RSVP. We walk through Jesus’ parable of the wedding feast and the hard line between being called and being chosen—how willingness, not worthiness, becomes the turning point. The imagery is vivid: a prepared banquet, servants sent, and guests who make light of the moment. That indifference isn’t just impolite; it’s spiritually costly.
We share why “many are called, few are chosen” isn’t fate but invitation—your yes aligns you with the life God has prepared. If you’ve been drifting, this is your cue; if you’ve been discouraged, this is your strength. Here on Soul Food Podcast, Motivational Mondays with Bishop Joshua. Hi there! May the God of the Bible our Lord Jesus Christ bless your life. Sabari over that you say, Amen. Good morning, good afternoon, good evening. Did you ever have this experience to arrange, set up a birthday party or wedding celebration, or graduation? And you have invited somebody that you like, you love to be present. And the day of the feast, the ceremony, that person did not show up. That person did not come. How did you feel? Like you you had prepared this dinner and invited somebody, family member, to come to dining with you, and that person did not show up. Jesus said this parable about a father who prepared the wedding celebration for his son, and the scripture says that he invited, he sent out servant to tell those who were invited to come, but they were not willing to come. They were invited, but they were not willing to come. And he sent again the servant, saying, I have prepared the I have prepared my dinner, my oxen, fed cattle, are killed, and all things are ready. Come to the wedding, but they made light of it. This is the word they ignored, they made light of it, and they did not come. You know, everybody knows this Bible verse which says, For many a called and few a chosen, so the invitation for salvation is sent out to everybody. We have men of God, pastors, daily on the TV, radio, social media, holding services, evangelizing, praying for people, but they are not willing to come to the house of God. Like today, we are going to have the Lord's Supper, the Holy Communion. This is the wedding or the dinner of the Son of God, the Dinah of the Son of God. And he sent his servant like us to invite you. If you are not willing, or you make light of it, you take it for granted, you ignore it. I'm sorry, he said, There you be uh cast out into darkness. There you be wimping and gnashing of teeth, only because they made light of it. He said, Many are called, but few are chosen. When you accept the invitation for salvation, you make yourself also a chosen one. The church God gave this vision to Bishop Mased to have the church opened every single day. Every single day. Many are invited every day, but only few are chosen. Be part of the chosen ones. May the God of the Bible bless your life. Don't forget, share this message with a friend of yours. Let us invite others. If they accept the invitation, they are going to be part of the chosen ones. God bless you. Have a good one.
