Here on Soul Food Podcast. Motivational Mondays with Bishop Joshua. Hi there, may the God of the Bible bless your life. We have to depend more on God, to count more on God. You cannot forget that when you first came to Jesus, to the God of the Bible, you did not depend on people or on things. You depended only on God. But now people depend more on their skills, qualifications, their money or their tools and they put faith aside. In other words, they do not depend on God. As before this morning. I was thinking of David the shepherd, the pastor David. David the shepherd, the pastor David.
Speaker 1:When King Saul armored him, equipped him to fight against Goliath. So Saul closed him with his armor. He put his armor on David to fight against Goliath. 1 Samuel 17,. Here on verse 39,.
Speaker 1:David fasted his sword to his armor and tried to walk, for he had not tested them. And David said to Saul I cannot walk with these, for I have not tested them. So David took them or took the arm off off. He took the arms given by King Saul. He took off that arm only to serve the Lord, to be with the Lord. In other words, king David said I will depend on God alone. What about. You depend on God. Again, now that you have skills qualifications, education certificates, depend on God. King David said I cannot work with this. And David himself took them off. Remember that he killed a lion. He killed a bear with his bare hands. He did not have no sword, no armor, no tools, but to defend, to protect the sheep of God, he killed the bear, he killed the lion.
Speaker 1:Now, before Goliath, he was given the arm of King Saul and he took off. This is time for you to take off your skills qualifications. You need them, you need them, you need them. You need your money, you need your education, but you need more. The Lord. Count on Him. There comes a time that we have to take off our armors, especially if you have tried again and again to overcome a situation and you couldn't. The best way or the best place is the altar. Go to the altar and say Lord, I take off the armor and I put my life in your hands Before me and Goliath and you have a Goliath before me and Goliath and you have a Goliath before me and Goliath, you are going to fight my fight, because the battle is not yours but the Lord. No matter whatever you are facing, take off your own armor and depend on God alone. God bless, you have a good one, bye, bye.
