The Naked Truth: The Treasure Within
What makes a simple clay vessel valuable? Not its appearance or construction, but what it contains. This profound truth sets the stage for one of our most transformative episodes featuring Lakeisha's raw, unflinching testimony.
We're reminded that our value isn't determined by our external circumstances but by what fills us from within. For Lakeisha, this spiritual principle became her lifeline after enduring brutal physical abuse that left her with broken ribs, having her clothes burned before her eyes, and being stripped of all financial resources by her husband.
As the featured song declares, "I'm no longer a slave to fear, I am a child of God" – words that capture Lakeisha's journey from worthlessness to divine purpose. Her testimony offers hope for anyone who feels trapped in cycles of abuse, addiction, depression, or family dysfunction.
Whether you're personally struggling or know someone who is, this episode provides both spiritual insight and practical resources. The Universal Church offers daily support and specialized groups for those facing similar battles. Speaker 3:Naked Truth. Hi there, may the Lord Jesus bless your life. I'm here reading this book, this powerful book, the Ministry of the Holy Spirit, by Bishop Macedo, and this book teaches us many powerful lessons, like I am reading today, about the treasure in earthen vessel. The treasure in earthen vessel, the treasure in earthen vessel we are a vessel made from the earth, clay, but the treasure is the spirit of God, the Holy Spirit. It says here. Spirit, it says here those who believe and receive the promise of the baptism in the Holy Spirit have the greatest treasure anyone can possess God, the Father, god the Son and God, the Holy Spirit living inside of them. Well, when somebody receives the Holy Spirit, the Spirit of God, this person receives a treasure. You know, if you take a vessel made from the earth of clay, it has no value, right? It's not something that is pricey, something that is priceless. No, it is not, it's very cheap. But once you put a bar of gold inside of it, that vessel becomes a valuable vessel Because inside it has something valuable. That is, the Holy Spirit inside of us. And here in the book it says From then on, after you have received the Holy Spirit, from then on, after you have received the Holy Spirit. These small and insignificant vessels of clay are transformed into valuable instruments in the hands of the Most High, the Potter, as it is written. But we have this treasure the Holy Spirit, in earthen vessels. That the excellence of the power may be of God and not of us. May be of God and not of us. It's a very powerful book with very good teachings and lessons for all of us. It's a very powerful book with very good teachings and lessons for all of us.
Speaker 3:I have a guest that will share her story with us in the naked truth. She's going to share with us her story because she had no value in life. Actually, her life was being destroyed by the evil spirits depression, drugs but now she is a transformed woman because she has found not one more church, one more religion, but she has found the power of God. I'm talking about Lakeisha that is joining us. Hi Lakeisha, thank you for joining us here on the Naked Truth. I'm talking about Lakeisha that is joining us. Hi Lakeisha, thank you for joining us here on the Naked Truth. How are you?
Speaker 4:I'm doing well, Bishop, Thank you for having me Well tell us about your story.
Speaker 3:How did your suffering begin?
Speaker 4:Well, it began when I was younger. I was in a relationship with my husband who was very abusive. He would drink a lot. It would always start with the drinking. He first lost his job and as a result of losing his job, his coping mechanism would be to drink and he would get physically abusive with me not with my children, but with me. It had gotten so bad I would have bruises and marks and things and I just felt at that time in my life that I didn't have a way out. There was no hope and I didn't know God personally for myself. I would try to get marriage counseling. I would try to seek help from elders. Nothing was working. I completely shut down. Nothing was working. I completely shut down. I was unable to care for my kids as a mother should because of the abuse Right.
Speaker 3:And in this situation, people like you. They try all it takes to find happiness. Actually, they are empty inside and in their desperation, they try to find the solution in people and in things. They try to solve the problem, to escape from the problem, and they do many things. People go to party, others drink a lot, others use drugs. A person tries to flee from the problem. As for you, what did you try to solve? The inner problem?
Speaker 4:Well, I would go out to parties with friends. I would drink. I would stay out all night. I even would do I would smoke weed. I even would do, I would smoke weed. Nothing was taking that heaviness and that burden and that feeling of emptiness inside. That's just a pleasure for a minute, but you still go back to remembering how painful it is for you, the brokenness that you feel, the revolt for your life period, the meaningless, the nothingness that you feel inside. It comes to a point into your life to where you feel like the world will be better, your children will be better if you weren't here anymore. And so I became. I felt like, if I took my life or harmed myself in some way, that my children would be better off. I never acted on it, but those were the thoughts that I had, those evil spirits of thinking. You know just take yourself out.
Speaker 3:Tell me once again which voices, the kind of voice you'd suggest from the evil spirit you had about taking your life.
Speaker 4:I would get up in the morning and I would feel so heavy and depressed. I would feel like, ok, I just don't even want to get up today. My life would be so much better if I would just rid myself and take my own life. I felt like that every day, like your kids would be better off if you weren't here. You're a burden to them, you're holding them back, you're just a heavy burden to them, and I felt like that every day. I just felt very depressed, very lonely and I felt like there was no way out.
Speaker 3:So if you are watching us and you say, I also feel the same, there is no way out. You feel like if you take your life it's going to be better for you, for the children, for the entire world. This is a lie that Satan is telling you. Actually, he is the one that brought the problems to you and now he is the one that is telling you to take your life. Praise God, the Kish is still alive to testify. She lived to this day to help you who are out there having the same problem, the same situation. Right now, I want to show to you what destruction in the family is all about. This is what she faced in life. I will be right back tragedies in the family, violence.
Speaker 5:Tragedies in the family, violence, violence. Parents or children are caught up in the wrong lifestyle, causing family problems such as fights and betrayals, allowing the family to fall apart.
Speaker 2:This could possibly lead to the death of a loved one.
Speaker 5:Tragedies in the family.
Speaker 3:So, Lakeisha, you had this suicidal thoughts, the thoughts to kill yourself, to leave Did you have any addictions problem.
Speaker 4:I had an addiction to drinking. I would drink, I would go through like a box of wine a day. I also got introduced to marijuana and I would smoke heavily, heavily, several times a day, before work, after work, and it never gave me the peace or gave me that feeling, that calming feeling that I needed. It just was a temporary vice, an evil one. Were you able to sleep? I'm sorry? Were you able to?
Speaker 3:sleep. I'm sorry, were you able to sleep?
Speaker 4:No, I did not sleep well. I started going to the doctor to figure out what was what was keeping me awake at night, because I started suffering from insomnia and and I would have really bad dreams. So I went to the doctor to get sleeping pills to help me sleep, and I still wasn't able to sleep right?
Speaker 3:let me ask you this question because the first area where the evil spirit works, uh, is in the night. They sleeping a person, because if you do not sleep, you do not have good moods, you do not have a good quality sleeping, you are exhausted, you get irritated, angry, you cannot function well and in spite of all the problems you had in the family, you had this addiction, suicidal thoughts, and on top of that you could not sleep right.
Speaker 4:Right, I was suffering in my work life. I was very short with my coworkers, very short with our customer clientele. I had no patience. What about the kids, my kids? I was very withdrawn. I would get off work as soon as I would come through the door I would speak, but I would just speak because I knew that I needed to, not because I felt the love. I would just walk straight back to my room, close the door and be there for the rest of the night.
Speaker 3:What do?
Speaker 4:you say that was the worst moment of your life. The worst moment of my life was when I was trying to leave the relationship that I was in, where I was being abused. I was left with broken ribs, all of my clothes were burned in front of me, my vehicle was taken from me and I was taken off of all the bank accounts. No money, nothing. And I came back to Oklahoma City here. This is where I'm living now, in Oklahoma City, with nothing, very down and very depressed, and I felt like I had nowhere to turn to. I wasn't even able to take care of my children.
Speaker 3:We had nothing. If you are watching me right now, I want you to know that her life is transformed. Now she's telling us all this only to help you, only to help you. Let me talk to the ladies transformed. Now she's telling us all this only to help you, only to help you. Let me talk to the ladies right now, only to help you, who are in the same situation. You have been beaten, abused, abused, molested, raped. You have been treated like a trash, no value, and when you try to leave this relationship, this is what you get. They burn your clothing, they beat you up, they treat you worse than garbage and now you are left with nothing no money, no car, no house, nothing. You feel like you are less than nothing. What she says is to help you. God, you are going to know in a few. God has transformed her life.

Speaker 6:The world expects me to be strong, but I'm weak. When the kids look up to me, do they see the hurt in my eyes? They keep asking when is daddy coming back? How do I tell them that he's not Now? I'm mom and dad. My mother raised me by herself. I should be able to do it for them too. Right Now I have to shield them from all of the disappointment and rejection they may feel from their father being absent through their birthdays, graduations and weddings. Who will walk our daughter down the aisle? Me Now I have to teach my son how to be a man on my own. Our children are growing up to look just like him. I'm trying to move on and be strong for the kids, but how can I forget him when, every time I look into my son's eyes, the man who left me is all I see?
Speaker 3:Well, let me go again talking to Lakeisha. You became a single mother. Let me ask you about your ancestors, like past generation, parents, grandparents, or if you have sisters, did it ever happen today a love life as well, like domestic violence, separation, divorce?
Speaker 4:tell us it is a cycle, a continuous cycle. It happened with my mother. It didn't happen with my grandmother, because she was always a matriarch of the family. She was married, successful marriage, beautiful family. But when it came to my mother, my mother was in countless abusive relationships and each time she never sought the help that she needed. She would just try to cope with it herself. And so, as a child growing up, you see that and you think that it's acceptable, and so it becomes a part of your life, in your way of thinking as it did in mine and my sisters do you have siblings?
Speaker 3:we've all suffered abusive relationships how many siblings do you have? I have uh two siblings, two sisters two sisters, and they also suffered in their love life.
Speaker 4:Yes, they suffered tremendously in their relationships. My sister, who was married for many years she suffered the abuse of her husband and both of my sisters they were both married and suffered from their husbands as well.
Speaker 3:Somebody may say it's a coincidence or what runs in the family. Well, again, we are going to be speaking to you and I want you to continue telling us about now, this cycle, the curses of abuses in your family, from your mother to you and to your sisters as well, and we are going to know the transformation, what God did inside of you and in your life. I'm no longer a slave to fear. I am a child of God. Oh, oh, oh. I've gone home, home, home From my mother's womb. You have chosen me, you have chosen me. Love has called my name. I've been born again to your family. Your blood flows through my veins, blows through my veins. I'm no longer a slave to fear. No, I am a child of God. Yes, I am. I'm no longer a slave to fear, lord, I am a child of God. Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh. You split the sea so I could walk right through it. My fears were drowned in perfect love. You're not. You are blessed wherever you are. If you have your glass of water, you may drink.
